A countless number of things have changed in 2020. Now it is time for the leaves to change their color, the air gets crisper, and all my favorite holidays are right around the corner. What hasn’t changed is SIL’s passion to assist those with disabilities to live as independently as possible in the community of their choice. We have taken several looks, from many angles, to gain insight in to where the service “gaps” are and what consumers in the community are still in need of. From check-in calls, to surveys administered, we have found this pandemic to have the biggest effect on social isolation. We listened, got creative, and launched programs to keep individuals safe, healthy, social, and informed. Later in this newsletter is a detailed breakdown of those programs and how to get involved!
